Cirrus Data’s Summer of Customer Success – Week 2
Tech Blog
Jul 27, 2022

Cirrus Data Solutions continues its Summer of Customer Success with another case study, this time from Loyola University, a private research university in Chicago, one of the largest Catholic universities in the United States with over 17,000 students. When the school needed to replace its aging IBM XIV Storage System arrays in two data center locations, it chose Pure Storage, purchasing Pure’s X20 FlashArrays for both sites.
The university wanted to use its own staff to perform the migration, and with the remote assistance of Cirrus Data’s support team, this was accomplished even though the lead IT person on the project admitted to feeling “overwhelmed” at first when confronted with the details of the appliance installation and insertion. A minor hiccup with a fiber channel card that was slightly dislodged in shipping was also quickly resolved by the on-site IT staff as well with the help of Cirrus support.
The project was given a four-month timeline, and as usual, Cirrus Data’s CMO allowed the project to be completed on time and on budget. Once the IT lead on the project had a couple migration sessions under his belt with the assistance of CDS, things went smoothly and gave high marks to both the solution and our support team.
What exactly did he say? Check out the report here, then be sure to come back next Wednesday for yet another brand new entry of Cirrus Data’s Summer of Customer Success!
