Getting Serious about Data Migration at Dell EMC World

May 19, 2017

Just returned from a fun, compelling, and productive time at Dell EMC World 2017! Each year this event seems to generate more excitement and more opportunities than the last. During my week in Las Vegas, I met with many C-Level executives who are looking at how data migration fits into their overall storage infrastructure strategy. Their migration projects aren’t for 10TBs or 50TBs of data, but rather for tens of petabytes of data. When considering the implications of moving large amounts of data, a purpose-built data migration solution must be considered so that your organization can realize the benefits of your new storage faster, easier, and with lower risk.

During the breakout sessions, it became exceedingly clear that Dell EMC is taking storage migration very seriously and has an ambitious vision of providing both File and Block level non-disruptive migration capabilities throughout their family of products. However, a vendor neutral 3rd party solution like Cirrus Data is the best route for migrating from many of their legacy storage products and their competitor’s storage into the new Dell EMC family of storage solutions. This represents a bright future for Cirrus Data, with plenty of storage migration opportunities for us and our partners. While there are many enterprises that are vendor-specific in their storage infrastructure decisions, more and more enterprises are realizing the added value of a vendor-agnostic approach that utilizes one migration solution to meet all their data migration needs, regardless of the OEM brand of source or target storage array.

Cirrus Data continues to evolve and add more and more options for utilizing its non-disruptive migration solution in support of global enterprise class storage solutions. Our “any to any” mantra continues to drive more conversations with leading Fortune 1000 companies every day. If you were not able to visit the Cirrus Data booth at Dell EMC World last week, drop us a line at http://go.cirrusdata.com/DMSPlatformDemo to schedule your free demo today! We’ll show you what we are doing in the world of data migration to reduce risk, ease deployment, speed up migration projects, and ease the burden of final cutover. Talk with Cirrus Data about how we can help you move your next data migration project forward.
